Jobs

Its the economy, stupid! Little known Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton used this slogan to capture the White House from George Bush in 1992. Today, the saying is just as relevant, if not more so.

While most politicians promise to create new jobs, we all know that government itself cannot truly create new jobs. While Illinois Democrats seek to expand government to create new jobs, we all know there is a shortage of funds needed to pay for them. Government's role is to foster an atmosphere that encourages job creation by lowering taxes and offering economic incentives to attract businesses. We need to become a destination community for businesses. Its time to put Illinois back to work.

During Kurt's tenure at Elgin Township, he advocated job training programs and temporary assistance grants that helped provide opportunities for residents to gain and maintain employment. Kurt believes in helping people help themselves. He has been a major advocate of faith-based initiatives designed to promote fiscal responsibility and home ownership.

While government doesn't create jobs, it is charged with creating and sustaining a business friendly climate that encourages job growth in the private sector. Kane County can do a better job or attracting high end employers. You cannot attract jobs when you nickel and dime the companies with higher taxes and fees.

"Its time we put Illinois families back to work."
